Giving
But since you excel in everything— in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving. - 2 Cor 8:7
Giving
Scripture tells us that everything that we are, and all that we have, has been given to us from God (1 Corinthians 4:7). In response to this truth Christians rejoice in the belief that we no longer belong to ourselves, and we have the opportunity to offer everything back to God that is His already – for His glory and for our eternal good. This is what we are called to do as followers of Jesus, and beloved children in his Kingdom.
South-West Evangelical Church is self-funded, meaning we rely on the generosity of our church partners and regular attendees to provides for our own needs and the needs of others.
Money that is spent by our churches is spent in the interests of God’s mission—whether it is paying staff, maintaining property, paying bills or supporting external missions and organisations. Giving to Anglican Churches Springwood is an investment in the Kingdom of God.

Estate Planning
Leaving a bequest to St Thomas’ Anglican is a great way to impact the spread of the gospel. When making a gift in your will it is important to use the correct legal terminology and therefore you should consult a solicitor to draft your will which will ensure all your wishes are taken into account.
There are a number of ways that you can make provisions in your will:
- The whole of your estate
- The residue of your estate
- A percentage of your estate
- A specific amount of money
Please discuss this with your solicitor and whatever option you choose, you should add words such as: “I give to South-West Evangelical Church Incorporated, Kingsgrove (ABN 18 751 838 876) for its general purpose, free of all duties, the sum of $X for which a receipt of the Treasurer, for the time being of the church, will be a sufficient discharge for my executor or trustee.”
If you would like to talk about your plans privately and confidentially, please contact our Treasurer.
"God's Will and Yours: Thinking biblically about your last will and testament" by Ian Carmichael is a free booklet to help you consider how you can serve God with what he's given you even after you're gone.
Tax Deductions
While our church is a non-profit organisation, we are not a 'Deductible Gift Recipient' (DGR) . It means if you are to make any donations to us and you will not be able to claim it as a tax deduction. For further information about tax deductions, please visit the ATO website.
